Sascha O'Neill

Sascha O'Neill is a sound and video artist working in Vancouver, B.C. on the unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Her work includes synthesized sounds/sample based music, bygone analog technologies (especially cassette tapes) as well as influences from the Black American Music (BAM) tradition. In her work Sascha explores themes of catharsis, trancendence and the complications/energetic charges of human communication. She is also interested in the spectacle of public performance and celebrity behaviour.
